Andy Reid Drops Truth Bomb About Rashee Rice Knee Injury
The Kansas City Chiefs have found a way to end the month of September 4-0. That is remarkable, considering the amount of injuries they've had to deal with offensively.
In Week 4, receiver Rahsee Rice was the latest player to suffer an injury. It happened when quarterback Patrick Mahomes dove into his leg after trying to take down a Chargers defender.
Rice was immediately ruled out with a knee injury and many believed he tore his ACL. Although no official diagnosis has been announced, head coach Andy Reid didn't provide a positive update on Friday.
Chiefs News: Rashee Rice Will Still Undergo More Test on Knee
Reid spoke with the media and said that Rice will get more testing done on his knee next week when the swelling goes down.
In the same breath, he added that there wasn't any good news to report. Reid stated there is, "no greater sense of optimism".
Chiefs fans have been hoping that some positive news will emerge regarding Rice's injury but it still appears that he will be out for an extended period. However long that is remains to be seen but Kansas City shouldn't expect to see Rice back out there any time soon. That said, he was seen walking normally without crutches on Thursday.
This season, the 24-year-old emerged into the WR1 role on the offense and was dominating early on. He reeled in 24 receptions (29 targets) for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Those stats were all No. 1 on the team thus far.
The Chiefs were already without Isiah Pacheco and Marquise Brown. Now, Rice is another offensive playmaker who won't be suiting up for the Chiefs for a while it appears.
