The Chiefs escaped Week 2 with a dramatic win over the Cincinnati Bengals, though may have lost star RB Isiah Pacheco to injury in the process.

Pacheco was hurt on the final drive of the game, suffering an apparent ankle injury that led to Samaje Perine and Carson Steele finishing the winning drive. He had an excellent game, rushing for 90 yards while adding five catches for 21 yards.

If Pacheco has to miss time, Kansas City will rely on Perine and Steele, two players who weren't even part of the conversation entering the summer.

Andy Reid Shares Concerning Isiah Pacheco Update

It's not yet clear if this is a significant injury. Pacheco's ankle issue wasn't mentioned much on the broadcast, though Reid's comments should be concerning for anyone in Chiefs Kingdom.

Without Pacheco, the offense lacks a dynamic weapon who looks like one of the better running backs in the league. He's been an invaluable member of the offense and needs to be on the field for Kansas City to reach its ceiling.

Nonetheless, a 2-0 start is exciting and one that should have fans thrilled. The Chiefs take on the Falcons in Week 3, Chargers in Week 4 and Saints in Week 5 before the bye, so a 5-0 start suddenly looks plausible despite the difficult opening stretch.

With Hollywood Brown already out, possibly for the season, Kansas City's depth chart is looking thin quickly. Even if Pacheco doesn't miss any games, he might be dealing with this moving forward. Ankle injuries are scary for a running back, so here's hoping the tests come back in a positive way for the rising star.
