The Kansas City Chiefs have won two straight Super Bowl titles and have their sights on securing their third. Despite winning it all last year, the Chiefs had some troubles with their pass-catchers.

The Chiefs led the NFL in drops (44) which led to them releasing Marquez Valdes-Scantling and adding Marquise Brown on a one-year deal.

Valdes-Scantling signed a three-year, $30 million deal with Kansas City in 2022 but he never really took off for the team. Over two seasons, he had 63 receptions for 1,002 yards and three touchdowns.

Those numbers aren't eye-popping but he did provide tremendous deep speed that stretched the field.

With Valdes-Scantling on the open market, a team within the AFC West could look at bringing him in. Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Los Angeles Chargers are interested in Valdes-Scantling.

Chiefs News: Chargers Expressed Interest in Marquez Valdes-Scantling

"The Chargers, I'm told, have some interest. They're looking for a speed receiver out there," Fowler said in an appearance on NFL Live.

It makes sense why the Chargers are looking for WR help. This offseason they parted ways with both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

They need to add playmakers to that offense and are looking to bring someone within the division. New head coach Jim Harbaugh hopes to change the culture over in Los Angeles and poaching a member from the top dog Chiefs could be his angle.

It'll be interesting to see if Valdes-Scantling does head to Los Angeles. He would go from a productive member of the Chiefs offense to now joining a hated division rival.

Regardless of what happens with the Chargers, the Chiefs will continue to be the favorites to win (-220) the division next season. Head over to FanDuel Sportsbook now to take advantage of these odds.
