6 Players Chiefs Will Regret Leaving Off 53-Man Roster
6. Nikko Remigio, wide receiver/punt returner
If there's one person upset about the Chiefs cutting Nikko Remigio, the former UDFA wide receiver and return specialist, it's got to be Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub.
Toub was getting a good look at Remigio in training camp and preseason games as an option in the kickoff and punt return games, and Remigio was getting plenty of reps with the first-team offense as well.
Pro Football Talk wrote this piece just a few days ago quoting the Chiefs' special teams coordinator Toub saying he was going to be pounding the table for Remigio when the final roster was assembled:
"Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub shared one of the names that he’ll be putting in the ear of General Manager Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid. Wide receiver Nikko Remigio has had a pair of 31-yard kickoff returns and a 42-yard punt return through the first two weeks of the preseason and Toub told reporters at a press conference that he will be “pounding the table” for Remigio to make it through cutdown day.
Remigio signed with the Chiefs after going undrafted last season and spent the year on injured reserve."

With this in mind, you've got to think there's at least a decent chance that another team is going to snipe Remigio off of waivers, and there's a decent chance the Chiefs are going to regret letting him go.
Especially if we see players like Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster struggling at all this coming season, Chiefs Kingdom is going to be wondering why this guy got away. There’s obviously hope of bringing him back to the practice squad, but subjecting guys to waivers is always a risky game to play.
