The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to assemble a roster that can potentially win a third straight Super Bowl title, and they've gotten pretty ruthless with some moves already.

The Chiefs have never been strangers about taking risks on certain players, and even with a decent amount of roster turnover this offseason, a lot of notable names are hitting free agency or the waiver wire after getting a shot with Kansas City this offseason.

Which players might the Chiefs regret moving on from? Let's take a look at six names of players who could end up burning the Chiefs after being let go.

1. Kadarius Toney, wide receiver

If you ask a bunch of Kansas City Chiefs fans on Twitter, the idea of eventually missing Kadarius Toney is a risk they're willing to take. It seems like the overwhelming response to Toney being let go has been positive from the fan base because the former first-round pick just didn't give the team enough return on investment.

The issue some might take with this particular move is what's left at receiver for the team. The Chiefs prioritized bringing back Skyy Moore, a second-round pick a couple of years ago. No problem there. But the fact that this team brought back JuJu Smith-Schuster?

They must be banking on the environment in Kansas City simply being better for Smith-Schuster than what he had in New England where he was a total free agent bust. It's not like the Chiefs are ridding themselves of a potential off-field distraction by swapping out Toney for Smith-Schuster. This is simply a situation where they feel they've maximized the return on investment for Toney and he's now going to get a fresh start elsewhere in the league.

But the Chiefs might live to regret that one depending on who ends up picking him up.
