2. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Running Back

Taken 32nd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU, Clyde Edwards-Helaire felt like a perfect fit in the Kansas City Chiefs' offense. He had just won a National Championship on a pass-happy offense and had no problem contributing to the aerial attack. He also could get the ground game going without needing 20 carries per game.

As a rookie, he was exactly what they hoped he would be. Edwards-Helaire had 803 yards on the ground and 297 through the air, giving him 1,100 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns. He was slowed in year two by a knee injury and managed 646 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in 10 games.

Injuries continued to be an issue in 2022 and he began to struggle with consistency. Eventually, Edwards-Helaire was replaced by rookie seventh-round pick Isiah Pacheco, who has locked down the starting job since then. This past season, Edwards-Helaire was almost non-existent.

In 15 games, he had 223 yards rushing and 188 receiving. It was assumed he would be on the way out but after getting almost no interest in free agency, he re-signed with Kansas City. He enters the season as the No. 2 running back but that's only due to a lack of threats around him. If anyone shows they can handle RB2 duties, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Chiefs move on. That's quite the fall for someone who once seemed destined to change their offense for the better.
