6 Chiefs on the Roster Bubble Heading Into Preseason Finale

2. Skyy Moore, Wide Receiver
When the Chiefs traded the explosive Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, it left a hole at receiver. They had high hopes for Mecole Hardman but also believed they found a gem in the second round when they landed Skyy Moore. They never expected him to be Hill but hoped he could help replace some of the lost production.
Through two seasons, that hasn't been the case with Moore hauling in just 43 receptions for 494 yards and a touchdown. Now heading into year three, he's buried on the depth chart and has a long road in front of him if he wants to make the team.
Moore helped himself with a 43-yard kick return on Saturday. This is on top of the praise he recently earned from wide receivers coach Connor Embree.
"Skyy's been great," Embree said via Jordan Foote of Kansas City Chiefs on SI. "He's one of those guys that knows everything, knows what to do and works hard. I know the quarterbacks love him because he's the guy staying out after practice trying to get extra reps in. And then, like I said, he knows the whole playbook [and] every position, so I have no problem putting him anywhere."
Kansas City had a suspect receiving corps in 2023. That changed this offseason when they added Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency and selected Xavier Worthy in the first round. They also retained Hardman, who was the Super Bowl hero last year. Throw in Rashee Rice, an underrated Justin Watson, and Kadarius Toney and it's clear that Moore remains on the bubble.
