6. Marlon Tuipulotu, defensive line

The Kansas City Chiefs have enough help on the defensive line as of right now that a player like Marlon Tuipulotu hasn't even sniffed the field yet this season.

The Chiefs initially signed Tuipulotu to the practice squad before signing him to the active roster in early September, and there he's sat, not logging any snaps so far this season.

The former sixth-round pick out of USC certainly has talent, and is coming off of a year with the Philadelphia Eagles (who drafted him) in which he played a career-high 14 total games and logged two sacks and three tackles for loss. He did so while actually playing fewer snaps than he did the year prior when he played just nine games for the Eagles.

Teams stash players on their 53-man roster all the time. The Chiefs must see something in Tuipulotu to keep him around because there are any number of other players they could give a 53-man roster spot to. Since he's just 25 years old, perhaps having him stashed away is worthwhile because teams lose defensive linemen all the time and I'm sure Tuipulotu would have offers to leave Kansas City to join another 53-man roster if he hit the waiver wire or free agency.

With that in mind, if you're talking about players whose roster spots are negotiable in case there is a need at some point, Tuipulotu is probably one of those guys from 50-53 on the overall pecking order. His spot should be up for grabs this month if the Chiefs need the roster flexibility.
