That was sobering.

The Chiefs' 16-game winning streak over the Broncos ended in embarrassing fashion yesterday, as Kansas City failed to score a TD in a 24-9 meltdown loss.

Poor wide receiver play has been the most pressing issue facing this team and that was on full display Sunday. With the trade deadline tomorrow, Brett Veach is out of time to improve the roster's obvious wart.

Here are three wide receivers Veach needs to bring to the Chiefs immediately to avoid this kind of catastrophe again:

3 Wide Receivers the Chiefs Need to Trade For Immediately

1. Adam Thielen - Carolina Panthers

Thielen makes too much sense as a reliable, productive veteran wasting away on an uncompetitive team in his final capable years. Despite the Panthers' 1-6 record, Thielen is enjoying a career resurgence, on pace for perhaps his best season since 2018.

He's got 57 catches on 70 targets for 581 yards and 4 TDs this year, routinely making the types of catches we rarely see Chiefs' receivers haul in.

With his crisp route-running, veteran savvy and proven track record, Thielen would be my No. 1 target for the Chiefs.

He's in the first year of a three-year, $25 million deal he signed with the Panthers in the offseason, though he's far outproducing that value thus far. There's a potential out after next season as well, giving Veach some flexibility moving forward should he choose to bring Thielen in.

It's unclear what Carolina would want for Thielen, though it's possible they're willing to sell while his value is peaking. Kansas City's offense needs the exact type of receiver that Thielen can be, so I'm hoping we make the call.

If Thielen isn't an option, there are two other players that stand out as targets.
