3. Matt Breida - RB

Not many questions remain for the Chiefs' roster, though who will serve as the third running back is near the top of the list. Jerick McKinnon remains unsigned, leaving just Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the active backs. Both have dealt with injuries, so Kansas City needs another body whether it's someone already in the building or a free agent still available.

On paper, Matt Breida is a similar type of running back as McKinnon. He's averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 7.8 yards per catch for his career, with the kind of speed that can turn a short gain into a massive play.

Sound familiar?

Breida struggled with the lowly New York Giants over the last two seasons but would be in a much better position to succeed with the two-time defending champions. In the event that Pacheco or Edwards-Helaire missed any time, Breida could step in too and handle a larger role.

McKinnon was essentially forgotten when the Chiefs turned him into one of the most valuable offensive pieces on a Super Bowl team. Why couldn't Breida be next in line?

Veach could likely sign him at a discount with minimal, if any, guarantees, making the move even wiser. Kansas City has a spot to fill and as is often the case, they've clearly got plenty of options.
