2. Bryan Mone - DT

Staying on the defensive line, Bryan Mone was a promising undrafted rookie who spent several seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before missing all of last season with a torn ACL.

Brett Veach is known for buying low on players who have shown flashes, and Mone is the kind of promising prospect who could easily replace Buggs on the Chiefs' 90-man roster. In 2021-2022, Mone had a combined 60 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble while serving a valuable role in Seattle's defensive line rotation.

Defensive tackle is generally considered to be the weakest position on Kansas City's roster. Thus, I think the front office would prefer to add another body on the interior if possible.

At 6'3", 345 LBs, Mone has the prerequisite size. It's unclear if the knee injury zapped his athleticism at all, but that's the beauty of signing someone to the 90-man roster for a training camp tryout.

If Mone impresses, he can slide right onto the roster. If he struggles, Kansas City can move on without using any real capital. These are the kinds of moves that keep the Chiefs ahead of the competition and I'd welcome the addition of Mone or a similar player.
