3 Perfect NFL Draft Fits for Kansas State OL Cooper Beebe
By Joe Summers
2. San Francisco 49ers
Incumbent left guard Aaron Banks is entering the final year of his rookie deal, making this an appropriate time to seek out his replacement if San Francisco elects to move on from the former second-round pick.
In that circumstance, why not take another second-round guard who is a perfect schematic fit for Kyle Shanahan's offense? As a versatile, mauling run-blocker with excellent traits for pass blocking as well, it's easy to imagine Beebe clearing lanes for Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey.
San Francisco's aging offensive line could use some juice. Beebe's experience playing both tackle positions on top of guard means he'd offer some injury insurance in the immediate future in addition to being a long-term solution.
His arms are a bit undersized and below-average athletic ability are disadvantages, but Shanahan's stellar scheme would mitigate those issues and let Beebe utilize his strengths.
The 49ers love to go for smart, experienced, bully football players. Beebe fits the bill and could be taken with San Francisco's first or second pick.
Our final team just released their starting left guard, creating an obvious need for a player of Beebe's caliber.
