3. Week 12 - @ Carolina Panthers, Nov. 24, 12:00 PM

This is the cakewalk game. Carolina went 2-15 last year as Bryce Young put forth one of the worst rookie seasons of any QB in NFL history, and now he'll have to face a loaded Kansas City defense nearing the stretch run of the year.

The Chiefs will need to win this game to maintain position in the race for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Barring injuries or unforeseen disaster, this should be an easy win. Kansas City has a tendency to play down to their opponents, so maybe it'll be close, but Mahomes' brilliance will win out in the end.

Carolina improved its offensive line in the offseason, though it's still no match for the Chiefs' ferocious defensive front. Young took the second-most sacks in the NFL last year (62) and this will be an opportunity for Chris Jones to wreck havoc.

If this were a Week 4 game or at some point in the first month of the season, perhaps I could see the Chiefs slipping up. Kansas City does play the Raiders just five days later, so they'll be incentivized to build a lead early to rest some starters later in the game.

This will be too important of a stretch to overlook the Panthers. After being forced to play the AFC Championship game on the road last year, the Chiefs know their best chance to win the Super Bowl again comes with that No. 1 seed.

Sportsbooks agree. The Chiefs are seven-point favorites and -345 on the moneyline. You have to win your easy games and Kansas City won't fall short in this one.
