2. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, wide receiver, Bills

Not only did the Kansas City Chiefs lose Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the 2024 offseason, but he ended up actually signing with one of the team's biggest rivals in the AFC -- the Buffalo Bills.

Although Scantling was only a role player for the Chiefs, he actually played a pretty big role for them. Last season, Valdes-Scantling played 618 total snaps for the Chiefs, 58 percent of the offensive snaps. He played 777 snaps the year prior, or 68 percent of the offensive snap count.

The Chiefs let Valdes-Scantling leave in free agency to sign with the Bills, who ended up giving him a very team-friendly deal of one year, $2.25 million to come to Buffalo. For that price, maybe Valdes-Scantling would have been better off sticking in a familiar situation, where the Chiefs were still in serious need of receiver help this offseason.

He caught just one pass in Week 1 for the Buffalo Bills, albeit for 19 yards. He was a good play for Valdes-Scantling, but the issue here is that he barely played in Week 1 for the Bills.

Being behind all of those players on the Buffalo depth chart doesn't exactly look like the best decision for Valdes-Scantling over the long haul of a season. Is he actually going to play for the Bills? Contributing the occasional big play is nothing to scoff at, but barely playing on a team that was desperately in need of receiver help at an extremely team-friendly price is not the best look for Valdes-Scantling.

Perhaps over the course of the season, we'll see his role really start to expand. Until then, this looks a little concerning for the former Chief.
