3 Chiefs Trade Targets to Watch in Training Camp
2. James Bradberry, cornerback, Eagles
To say the Chiefs would be buying "low" on James Bradberry is an understatement. But maybe bringing him to Kansas City would be the best way the organization could pay Bradberry back for his service in helping the Chiefs beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl a couple of seasons ago.
Bradberry is not over the hill by any means, but he's an aging cornerback who is coming off of a really bad season. The Philadelphia Eagles responded to the poor defense of Bradberry and the rest of their secondary by overhauling that unit a bit, hiring Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator and bringing in Christian Parker as defensive backs coach while using their top two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft on Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.
Out at Eagles OTAs and minicamp, Bradberry was starting to get looks as a potential safety in the Philly defense, but he's probably much more likely to be traded or cut than anything at this point.
After having to say goodbye to L'Jarius Sneed, one of the best cornerbacks in the game, perhaps the Chiefs would be interested in acquiring Bradberry if the price is right. It wouldn't be a bad risk to take if Bradberry can somehow find a way to bounce back from what we saw last year. There's no way it could get worse, right?
The same guy who was named a second-team All-Pro in 2022 was credited with allowing a whopping 11 touchdowns last season. Similar to the risk the Chiefs took bringing in Donovan Smith at left tackle last year, maybe they could take a calculated risk on Bradberry.
