If you're one of the 31 NFL teams not named the Kansas City Chiefs, why in the world would you be making a trade to send a player their direction? If the Chiefs are calling and asking about the availability of a player, you should probably take a long look in the mirror and wonder why the Chiefs -- the back-to-back Super Bowl champions -- feel like they want a player on your roster and you don't.

Teams around the league obviously still do deals with the Chiefs, but helping this team get better in any way has got to be a huge disadvantage at times for general manager Brett Veach.

Could we see the Chiefs make any trades during the course of training camp? There could be some players available as teams cut down to 53 players in the coming weeks who could help Kansas City fortify its roster and maybe even for a team-friendly price. Even if teams may reconsider making a deal if it's the Chiefs that come calling, here are some interesting ideas to keep an eye out for.

3 training camp trade ideas for the Kansas City Chiefs

1. Zaven Collins, LB, Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals decided not to pick up the 5th-year option for former first-round pick Zaven Collins this offseason, leaving some doubt regarding his future with the team. We saw the Cardinals move on from Isaiah Simmons last year for next to nothing, and if Collins is available for a reasonable price in 2024, why not the Chiefs?

The Chiefs could utilize Collins and his versatility really well within the Steve Spagnuolo defense, and they are currently dealing with the aftermath of losing Willie Gay Jr. in free agency.

Despite racking up 100 tackles in the 2022 season, Collins saw his snap count go down to just 58 percent last season under new head coach Jonathan Gannon. Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort could send Collins to the Chiefs where Spagnuolo could torture quarterbacks by deploying him as a blitzing off-ball linebacker.
