3 Chiefs on Thin Ice After Gutting Loss to Eagles in Week 11
By Joe Summers
2. Patrick Mahomes - QB
No, Mahomes does not deserve all the blame for his worst outing of the season. In fact, I think he played a good game overall and was let down by his receivers, again.
That being said, this was an opportunity for Mahomes to assert himself as the clear MVP favorite and the Chiefs as Super Bowl favorites.
Neither thing happened.
Mahomes ended the game completing just 24 of 43 passes for 177 yards, two TDs and an interception. His 4.1 yards per attempt was the worst mark of his entire career, though he did add 38 rushing yards on six attempts.
The Chiefs are now at a crossroads, with an obvious problem at wide receiver and no real solution. Mahomes will have to play better and likely rely on his legs more, though blowing a double-digit halftime lead leaves a sour taste in everyones' mouths.
Kansas City did not score a single point in the second half. If this team is making and potentially winning another Super Bowl, the offense must improve.
