3 Chiefs Most Likely to Be Traded Before Roster Cutdown Day

The Kansas City Chiefs could look to trade these 3 players rather than release them and get nothing in exchange.

1. Kelvin Joseph, CB

Kelvin Joseph started his collegiate career at LSU and appeared in 11 games as a true freshman. He was a promising prospect who ended up being suspended for their 2019 Fiesta Bowl appearance when he violated team rules. This led to his decision to enter the transfer portal and he wound up with Kentucky.

He sat out the 2019 season due to the college rules, playing just nine games for the Wildcats in 2020. Joseph proved he was talented enough in those games, recording 25 tackles and four interceptions. Some scouts even felt he had first-round talent but the character concerns led to a slide into Round 2.

That's where the Dallas Cowboys landed him, hoping to pair him with Trevon Diggs. Joseph was never able to make good on his promise, with the major headline surrounding him in Dallas being a negative one. Joseph was a "person of interest" in a fatal shooting, where he was a passenger in the car where the gun was fired.

Dallas gave up on him after two seasons, sending him to Miami in 2023 for Noah Igbinoghene. The Dolphins released him in November and he spent the final couple of months of the season with the Seattle Seahawks.

Now in Kansas City, Joseph has performed well in camp but the cornerback room is crowded. They're going to have to make some tough decisions and sending Joseph elsewhere for future assets might help them round the roster out.
