The Chiefs now have 16 straight wins over the rival Broncos, pulling off a dominant 19-8 victory last night that wasn't as close as the score indicates.

Russell Wilson threw for only 95 yards with a pair of turnovers, while the offense overcame sloppy play to control the clock late to get a win. Tons of players deserve credit for an excellent all-around effort, but a few Chiefs stand above as most deserving.

Let's look at the three best players from Kansas City's Week 6 Thursday Night Football win against Denver.

3 Best Chiefs Players From Win vs. Broncos

1. Chris Jones

Turns out Chris Jones may not have demanded enough money in his holdout.

With a magnificent performance that included four tackles, a sack, a deflected pass, and THREE QB hits, Jones looked like the NFL's most dominant defensive player while dominating an overmatched Broncos' offensive line all night.

The attention he demands creates opportunities for his teammates as well, so it's no wonder the Chiefs sacked Wilson four times and added seven QB hits.

Sources say that's pretty, pretty good!

The Chiefs defense is allowing only 14.7 points per game through five weeks. That's the second-best mark in the league, trailing only the vaunted 49ers. Suddenly, Patrick Mahomes and the offense aren't the main driving force behind the AFC's best record.

Instead, it's the defense. Chris Jones is the beating heart of Steve Spagnuolo's unit and his importance becomes more obvious by the week.

At this point, I fully support signing Jones to a long-term extension following this season and I don't want to imagine the defense without him moving forward.

Jones isn't the only Chiefs' star that shined bright, though.
