The Kansas City Chiefs clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC and already got their Week 17 matchup out of the way. With one meaningless game remaining on their schedule and a first-round bye, the Chiefs are chilling while the rest of the league is concerned about the playoff race and seeding.

With plenty of time on their hands, Chiefs fans started thinking about the offseason, the 2025 campaign, and beyond. Recent remarks by an AFC West rival have the fans clamoring for a potential offseason trade.

Earlier this week Raiders star Maxx Crosby expressed his frustration with the franchise. The three-time Pro Bowler admitted that years of inconsistency and constant coaching changes have taken a toll on him.

"Years of inconsistency. You know what I mean? It's new coaches every other year and this and that. There's been plenty of times where I'm like damn, this d-line is cold, and then I come back, and every single one of them is gone."

Crosby has every right to be frustrated. The Raiders are 3-12 for the season and despite Crosby playing at an elite level every year, they have one winning season and postseason appearance since he was selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The star pass rusher, who said he has no more guaranteed money on his deal, is looking forward to having important conversations with the organization in the offseason.

Combine that with Crosby consistently praising the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes and you understand why there are speculations about a Crosby-to-Chiefs move. Just last week, Crosby tweeted his support for Kansas City after the Chiefs defeated the Texans.

Crosby underwent a season-ending surgery a few weeks ago but will be back to start next season. If the Chiefs wanted to acquire him via a trade, at least one first-round pick and multiple early-round picks would be required.

Even if the Chiefs were willing to break the bank for Crosby, it is unclear if the Raiders would want to trade the face of their franchise to the Chiefs. For an organization already in hot water with its fanbase, that would be a massive risk. For Kansas City, it would be a home run deal for one of the best edge defenders in the league.
