The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled to find stability at left tackle all season. This past week, against the Las Vegas Raiders, their struggles forced them to move left guard Joe Thuney to left tackle during the game.

While anyone watching the game can see how the Chiefs' left tackle problems have affected the offense all season, Patrick Mahomes believes it's not affecting him.

During his Wednesday press conference, Mahomes told reporters, "I don't know if it's affecting me too much. I've played with all those guys before ... I try to stay within myself and the scheme of the offense."

Mahomes clearly doesn't want to throw anyone under the bus, but saying that the left tackle play isn't affecting him is crazy.

Chiefs News: Patrick Mahomes claims left tackle problems aren't affecting him

This season, Wanya Morris and Kingsley Suamataia have allowed a combined eight sacks, 26 QB hurries and 46 QB pressures, according to PFF. That level of ineptitude definitely affects Mahomes, even if he doesn't want to or can't admit it.

Fans and analysts don't have to look too far for an example of this. Last week against the Raiders, Mahomes overthrew tight end Noah Grey on what could have been a deep ball touchdown.

As seen in the video, Morris gives up quick pressure that pushes Mahomes up in the pocket. It's likely that if Mahomes hadn't been forced to navigate the pocket, he would have been able to hit Gray for the touchdown.

Even though the miss can be mostly blamed on Morris's bad blocking solely, Mahomes usually finds a way to complete those types of passes.

Mahomes unwillingness to throw the left tackles under the bus publicly shows his great leadership. However, the story may be different privately, but no one will ever know.

All fans can hope for is that the Chiefs left tackle problems fix themselves before the playoffs.
