The Kansas City Chiefs did plenty of work to address their defensive line this offseason as a number of key players were retained. The defending AFC champions also went out and scoured the market for outside additions that could help Kansas City make another Super Bowl run in 2025.
One of the defensive lineman brought into the fold by the Chiefs front office is former Florida State Seminoles standout Janarius Robinson. The four-year veteran shared some exciting news with Kansas City fans on Wednesday as he announced, via Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com, that he is 100% healthy as we head into the regular season.
Unfortunately, injuries are something that has plagued Robinson since he entered the league as a fourth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. His rookie season was derailed before he even had a chance to participate in a regular season game, suffering a leg injury in training camp that put his debut on hold.
From there, Robinson landed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but a season-ending ankle injury forced him to miss the team's loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. Next, Robinson had a two-year stint with the Las Vegas Raiders where he appeared in 10 games, including one start, compiling statistics of five tackles, a half-sack, two QB hits, and one pass defensed.
Now, a fully healthy Robinson has landed in Kansas City and the hope is that he will return to the form that we saw from him during his standout collegiate career. He racked up 105 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in Tallahassee, showcasing playmaking potential waiting to be unearthed.
