The Kansas City Chiefs are well-known for their ability to identify standout rookies and develop them into productive players. Whether it's a late-round draft pick like Isiah Pacheco or even an undrafted guy like Tershawn Wharton, the Chiefs are excellent at pumping talent into the roster by any means necessary.
Rookie minicamp just took place May 3-5, and there are several examples of players who impressed the coaching staff. We'll see if the organization elects to keep any of these guys around, but it appears at least a couple of players will get an opportunity in training camp and perhaps wind up on the practice squad.
While no transaction has officially been announced, one rookie's mother shared a post on social media seemingly indicating that her son has been signed.

Undrafted Rookie's Mom Seemingly Indicates Chiefs Signed Her Son
Former SMU wide receiver Key'Shawn Smith was one of the standout players in rookie minicamp. While the Chiefs have an increasingly deep wideout room, Smith turned heads with his strong performances.
His mother shared a picture of him on Monday, saying in the caption that Smith called to tell her he's a Kansas City Chief. Since minicamp just ended, it's logical to think that he could've been offered a spot on the 90-man roster for the rest of the summer.
There has been no announcement or report otherwise, so we can't know for sure at this stage, though the post is certainly suggestive.

After spending the first three years of his collegiate career at Miami, Smith transferred to SMU and shined, averaging 16 yards per catch in 2024 to go with five TDs. The 6-foot-1, 188-pound receiver is considered to be a downfield threat who can stretch defenses vertically.
There doesn't appear to be a realistic path for him to make the 53-man roster, though Kansas City routinely keeps several receivers on the practice squad and perhaps Smith could be one of those.
In the meantime, we'll have to wait for an official announcement from the team or report from a beat writer, though it sounds like fans may need to get familiar with Smith sooner than later.
