It's no secret that the Kansas City Chiefs are in the market for wide receiving depth this offseason. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice's roles are set in stone, but there's significant question marks behind them, and Rice still has a potential suspension looming over his head.
Travis Kelce's declining production increases the importance of getting wide receiver. Keeping Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown would help matters, though the offense still needs at least one more reliable pass-catcher to feel confident going into next season.
Fortunately for the Chiefs, rumors are beginning to circulate around one former All-Pro that is sounds like Kansas City is interested in acquiring via trade.
Two other teams that I’ve been told are monitoring DK Metcalf situation are Bills and Chiefs.

Right now, consensus is #Seahawks aren’t looking to make a deal and still would like to extend star receiver. But several teams are keeping tabs in case door opens to acquire him.
Chiefs Monitoring Seahawks WR DK Metcalf for Potential Trade
According to Corbin Smith, who covers the Seattle Seahawks for Emerald City Spectrum, both the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are monitoring DK Metcalf in case the Seahawks elect to trade him.
Metcalf has just one year left on his deal and wants an extension. The Seahawks were prefer to sign him to a new contract but it negotiations sour, the Chiefs could have a golden opportunity to swoop in. His cap hit is just under $32 million in 2025, which complicates matters, though Kansas City could sign him to that extension and push the cap hit down to future years.
From a production standpoint, you'll be hard-pressed to find too many players on the market who can rival Metcalf. Still only 27 years old, he's a former All-Pro and Pro Bowler with at least 900 yards in all six years of his career, including three seasons of over 1,000.
Early reports suggested the Seahawks were looking for a first-round pick in return, but Saturday's trade of Deebo Samuel for a mere fifth-rounder might make that an impossible ask. The Chiefs have two third-round selections in 2025 thanks to the L'Jarius Sneed trade. If Metcalf can be had for one of those, general manager Brett Veach would at least have to strongly consider it.
Fixing the offense and continuing to support Patrick Mahomes are two important goals in the coming months. It's a longshot, but perhaps Metcalf could help get the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl next year.
