The Kansas City Chiefs' 2024 season was filled with ups and downs, from dealing with struggles at offensive tackle to losing key starters to injuries. Though the Chiefs got back to the Super Bowl once again in 2025, Kansas City fell in a blowout to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Now, the Chiefs' roster is set to go through massive changes this offseason. A number of players, both those acquired this season as well as those who have been with the team for a while, are set to hit free agency.
As a result, the Chiefs must make tough decisions on who to bring back and who to move on from. With that in mind, here are 10 Chiefs who have likely taken part in their last game with the organization.
1. Trey Smith - RG
Unfortunately, right guard Trey Smith is the Chief who is most likely not to return to the team. This is not because of poor play. It's precisely the opposite. Since joining the NFL in 2021, Smith has become one of the best guards in the game, which has resulted in him likely resetting the guard market.
Realistically, the Chiefs don't have enough money to extend Smith at the price he deserves. In four seasons, Smith has allowed eight sacks, 20 QB hits, 113 QB hurries, and 141 QB pressures, according to PFF. That said, Smith does have a tendency to get penalized with 33 since 2021.
While the number of penalties Smith has taken is a slight issue his overall play certainly makes up for it. Smith, likely leaving Kansas City, is a huge blow to the team. His absence will leave a huge hole in the middle of the Chiefs' offensive line.
With the issues the team has had at offensive tackle this season, losing Smith means they will need to find solutions both inside and outside of the offensive line. That may cause even more issues for Patrick Mahomes next season in pass protection.
Smith's departure from Kansas City could end up having a similar effect to when Tyreek Hill left after the 2021 season.
