The Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work trying to rebuild the roster to continue competing for Super Bowls, having played in four of the last five with a strong core of players.
Kareem Hunt made his heartwarming return to the organization last season and while he didn't earn a ring, he did lead the team in yards from scrimmage with 904 and will be back in 2025. Since Hunt wasn't part of the roster prior to this year, he's fully focused on trying to help the Chiefs hoist another Lombardi Trophy.
As it turns out, that pursuit of a championship is exactly why Hunt wanted to stay in Kansas City.

Kareem Hunt Returned to Chiefs to Win Super Bowl
Speaking to Arrowhead Pride, Hunt explained his desire to remain a Chief.
"The culture is just great," Hunt said. "It didn't end the way we wanted it to. But we've got a lot of work to do and I feel like we've got another good shot at it. You never want to go to the Super Bowl and lose, but I'm just grateful I got to experience that. I definitely want to get back there and see how it is on the other side."
At 29 years old, Hunt likely is past the prime of his career. That doesn't mean he can't be effective though, as his ability to churn out yards in tight spaces is unrivaled on the roster. A healthy Isiah Pacheco and the newly-signed Elijah Mitchell create an intriguing trio and the backfield could grow even stronger if the Chiefs draft a back next month.
Regardless, Hunt will be an important part of the offense. It's worth noting that he's only had more than 200 carries once in his career and it was his rookie campaign, so there still should be plenty of tread left on his tires.
Here's hoping Hunt is right and the Chiefs can get back to the big game in 2025 and finish the job this time.
