Jayhawks Get Massive Jalon Daniels Update for Next Season
The Kansas Jayhawks finished the 2024 season with a 5-7 record, missing bowl eligibility by just one game.
With this season officially in the rear-view mirror, the focus has shifted to the 2025 campaign. On Friday night, the Jayhawks got great news regarding star quarterback Jalon Daniels.
Jayhawks News: Jalon Daniels Will Be Back With Jayhawks in 2025
According to Pete Thamel, Daniels and the Jayhawks agreed to a new NIL deal and will play for them in 2025. That will be his final season of eligibility and wanted to stick around.
Daniels has been with the Jayhawks since 2020 and wants to ride out his collegiate career with the same crew.
The 22-year-old posted on his X account, expressing his excitement for the final chapter of his college career.
He wrote, "I'm ready to lead the Kansas Jayhawks into the 2025 season and fully focused on becoming the best QB possible. I'm staying to finish what we've started, continue building, and to give back to the fans who've given us everything."
In 37 collegiate career games, Daniels has completed 61% of his passes for 6,751 passing yards and 45 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 1,047 yards and scored 19 scores on the ground.
The California native was able to play in all 12 games this season after missing games in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Daniels hurt his shoulder and missed games in 2022, then he had a back injury that limited him to three games last season.
Daniels and the Jayhawks have one last dance in 2025 and that will pump up the Kansas fanbase.
