The Royals fell short of their ultimate goal but still enjoyed a spectacular season. Now that the World Series is over, one former Kansas City hero already found a new team for the 2025 campaign.

Former World Series MVP Jorge Soler has reportedly joined the Los Angeles Angels in a free agent signing immediately after the conclusion of the year.

Kansas City's all-time leader in home runs for a single season, Soler is a beloved memory of Royals teams who didn't produce an adequate result yet still found success elsewhere.

Former Royals OF Jorge Soler Signs With Angels

During his five-year career with Kansas City, Soler had .236/.328/.471 batting splits while blasting 80 home runs and 281 RBIs.

His success was mostly achieved outside of the Royals organization, though there's no ignoring Soler's unrivaled power. He compiled 48 home runs in 2019 for an underwhelming team, inspiring hope to a group in desperate need of encouragement.

Soler didn't last long in Kansas City but his impact was still felt. Given this offense and it's struggles creating power, it's understandable if some fans would've preferred he stayed around. For now, Soler is experiencing greener pastures.

Few could've predicted Soler would become a World Series MVP. Fewer would've seen him gain more postseason opportunities. The Angels won't provide that, yet Los Angeles can still provide the glimpse of a championship from across the area code.

He's the kind of player who could take this Royals roster to another level. We won't experience that as fans but should still be happy for Soler nonetheless.
