The Kansas City Chiefs have their first postseason contest coming up on Saturday afternoon as they host the Houston Texans on Saturday.

The Chiefs had a first-round bye and also rested their starters in Week 18. Those two weeks of rest give Kansas City a massive advantage as they chase their third straight Super Bowl title.

With game day quickly approaching, it was announced that Joe Thuney will start at left tackle against Houston. With Thuney slated to suit up, it looks like D.J. Humphries' time in Kansas City is seemingly over.

Chiefs News: Joe Thuney is Going To Start at LT

Back in November, the Chiefs signed Humphries to a one-year deal to help stabilize the trenches but things didn't go as planned.

He made his debut in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, he logged 60 offensive snaps and struggled immensely. Humphries gave up five pressures, two QB hurries, and one sack. According to PFF, he had a 44.8 overall grade and a measly 30.5 pass-blocking grade.

The Chiefs gave Humphries a one-year deal that can go up to $4.5 million, which was worth the dart throw. Unfortunately, things seem to be falling off the rails.

Kansas City is chasing their third straight title and can't afford to put Humphries out there.

Thuney has been a killing in the NFL as a guard but started three games at LT for Kansas City. This season, the 32-year-old has a 79.9 overall grade and an 81.9 pass-blocking grade. In addition, he's committed just one penalty and gave up zero sacks.

The Chiefs understand they need to have Patrick Mahomes upright and Thuney gives them the best chance at doing so. And that means, Humphries's time with Kansas City could be coming to an end.
