Former Chiefs WR Suddenly in Legal Trouble After Week 12 Game
Week 12 was an eventful one, both for the Kansas City Chiefs -- who were nearly upset by the Carolina Panthers -- and the NFL at large. This weekend's slate of action saw a snow game in Cleveland, a pair of wacky division battles (Minnesota vs. Chicago and Dallas vs. Washington), plus some electric primetime matchups.
On Sunday night, the football world watched Saquon Barkley run wild over the Los Angeles Rams, whose season is starting to slip away at 5-6. And now things have gotten even worse for this struggling team.
According to reports, Los Angeles wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving of under the influence right after his team's loss on Sunday Night Football. California Highway Patrol alleges Robinson was going "more than 100 mph on US-101 northbound", which prompted him being pulled over around 5:13 a.m. local time in Woodland Hills.
The West Valley Area Office of the CHP says they "observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment" from the receiver when he was pulled over, leading to his arrest.
Robinson's name is very familiar to Chiefs fans, as he spent his first six NFL seasons in Kansas City after they drafted him in the fourth round in 2016. The speed threat went on to record 145 receptions, 1,679 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Chiefs during his time in KC. He also helped the team win the Super Bowl during the 2019 campaign.
After leaving Kansas City, Robinson spent a season with the Baltimore Ravens before landing in LA, where he's in the middle of his second season under head coach Sean McVay. The Rams' HC is scheduled to speak with the media on Tuesday, where more details about the situation may be revealed.
