Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling had an interesting career with the organization, often suffering through regular-season struggles before delivering in a major way when it mattered most.

No fan should look at Valdes-Scantling, who routinely dominated in the postseason during his tenure, as anything other than a playoff hero. He's no longer with the franchise, now finding himself with the Seattle Seahawks, but it sounds like he's off to a hot start.

Valdes-Scantling shined at times with the New Orleans Saints last season and has an opportunity to earn a larger role. According to recent reports, the 30-year-old speedster is already turning heads at OTAs in Seattle.

Former Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling Shining at Seahawks OTAs

Seattle Times reporter Bob Condotta has been on the ground watching the Seahawks' OTAs and noted that Valdes-Scantling was impressive, connecting with Kansas City native Drew Lock for some exciting plays.

"Drew Lock, who is back for his second tenure with the Seahawks, worked with the second-team offense and seemed on target with just about every throw he made and turned in a couple highlight-reel worthy plays," Condotta wrote. "One came on a fade route for a TD in the back of the end zone to Marquez Valdes-Scantling and another to Cody White in the back of the end zone, and the second straight he threw to White in that session."

During his two-year tenure with the Chiefs, Valdes-Scantling shined against the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs, helping secure a pair of Super Bowl wins before moving on to a new organization.

While he had some key struggles during the regular season, Valdes-Scantling should be fondly remembered in Kansas City as one of the more important players during this dynastic run. Fans should wish him nothing but the best, and here's hoping that the Seahawks are able to successfully utilize him.
