Free agency is fast approaching, and the Kansas City Chiefs are not alone in figuring out roster construction in preparation for the 2025 season.
The Chiefs fell short of their ultimate goal, though they seem well-prepared to battle for the Super Bowl once again. Perhaps the team's largest issue last year was offensive line play, and we've already seen a big overhaul following the trade of Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears.
While some players are changing teams, others are leaving the NFL entirely. One former Chief, who has had plenty of playoff battles against Kansas City during his time with the Buffalo Bills, has joined that club after officially announcing his retirement on Thursday.

Former Chiefs C Mitch Morse Announces Retirement from NFL
The Jacksonville Jaguars released a statement from Morse revealing his retirement. Originally a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Missouri, Morse spent four years with the Chiefs before joining the Bills.
He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022. Though he only spent one year with the Jaguars, Morse was widely considered to be a positive locker room presence and strong leader at every organization he was part of.
"The things I'll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off of the field," Morse said in his statement. "Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly."
That sentiment is felt league-wide and played a large role in Travis Kelce's decision to return for "at least" one more season. Once you're out of the NFL, you're out, losing all of the unique parts of the job that make this sport such a blast for those who play.
No matter what chapter is next for Morse, he had a stellar 10-year career and will be remembered fondly. Cheers to him and his family as Chiefs Kingdom wishes him the best.
