The Kansas City Chiefs clinched the No.1 seed with their 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas day. While the Chiefs took care of business in the AFC, the No.1 seed in the NFC is still up for grabs.

The three teams in contention for that spot in the NFC are the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Philadelphia Eagles. After losing last week, the Eagles' chances for the number seed are slim but still exist. That said, both Eagles quarterbacks sustained injuries last week, leaving their starting situation up in the air this week.

As a result, the Eagles added former Chiefs quarterback Ian Book to their practice squad, according to Mike Garafolo.

NFL News: Eagles Sign Ian Book to Their Practice Squad

Book, a former fourth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2021, was part of the Chiefs' 90-man roster this offseason. Nevertheless, Book had to compete with Chris Oladokun to be the Chiefs practice squad quarterback.

Oladokun won the spot, which meant Book was cut on August 27, the final roster cut day. Since then, Book has remained unsigned until Thursday, when he joined the Eagles.

Book signing with the Eagles marks the second time he's been with the team. His first stint with the team was in 2022, but resulted in no playing time.

This time around, Book may see playing time if Tanner McKee is forced to start and he struggles. In such a case, Book would have a chance to show that he has learned a little in Kansas City.

Regardless, Chiefs Kingdom hopes Book can make the most of this opportunity.
