Part of what's created such a dominant era of Kansas City Chiefs football has been general manager Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid's ability to find diamonds in the rough.
From late-round picks like Isiah Pacheco or Nazeeh Johnson to undrafted contributors in the vein of Mike Caliendo or Tershawn 'Turk' Wharton, the Chiefs' brass has done a fantastic job of getting value out of overlooked players.
Since the team consistently gives opportunities to guys that other teams ignore, there has been a significant amount of roster turnover. One player who was given an opportunity but never ultimately made the roster, offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez, has now been waived by his new organization during training camp.
The #49ers have released/waived the following players in corresponding moves:

Former Chiefs OT Sebastian Gutierrez Waived by 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday on the NFL transaction page that they were waiving Gutierrez. A 27-year-old undrafted tackle, Gutierrez has only suited up for two games in his career: one with the Las Vegas Raiders and one with the 49ers.
He joined Kansas City for summer workouts and training camp in 2023, though he was released in August as part of roster cutdowns. The 6-foot-6, 308-pound lineman was a standout at Minot State but has failed to crack a professional roster with any consistency.
Gutierrez has certainly bounced around the NFL. Aside from the 49ers, Chiefs, and Raiders, he's also spent time with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and Indianapolis Colts. He seemingly has a tantalizing physical profile that's led teams to take a chance on him, yet he's still searching for that first legitimate opportunity to earn snaps on the field.
Reid, who was an offensive lineman in his day and has an affinity for such players, is known to keep more bodies than most at those positions, leading to his desire to try out various linemen. Gutierrez was offered a chance to shine as a depth piece, and while it didn't work out, it's clear that he's drawn enough interest from various franchises to have some hope.
Admittedly, this news doesn't impact the Chiefs. Kansas City invested heavily in the offensive line this offseason by drafting first-round tackle Josh Simmons and signing Jaylon Moore to a $30 million contract. They'll be fine without Gutierrez, though it's interesting nonetheless that he's now looking for his seventh team in his career.
