Former Chiefs Champion Admits He's on the Outs With Current Team

While the Kansas City Chiefs are keeping their hopes of a perfect season alive, some teams aren't as fortunate. Teams that had Super Bowl aspirations, like the Cleveland Browns, have given up on their season and are looking ahead to next season already.
That means there will be significant changes in the offseason in Cleveland. It particularly impacts one former Chief. Juan Thornhill, who signed with the Browns in the 2023 offseason, recently admitted on TikTok that he may not be back with the Browns next season.
NFL News: S Juan Thornhill Preparing to Leave Cleveland in Offseason
Thornhill had signed a three-year deal with Cleveland after winning two Super Bowls in his first four years in the league in Kansas City. As a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Thornhill was a huge part of the Chiefs defenses that regularly stepped up in the playoffs.
Things haven't worked out well for him ever since his departure. He struggled to stay healthy, missing more games in 2023 than he did in his four years in Kansas City. He continued his struggles this season as he has missed five of his team's nine games.
When he plays, however, he has been as solid as ever. In fact, per PFF grades, he is having the second-best season of his career this season.
Yet, he is aware of the reality the Browns are in. They are financially strapped and aren't going anywhere. Thornhill's salary is non-guaranteed for next season, so they may choose to open up cap space by letting the 29-year-old defender walk.
His time in Cleveland may be coming to an end but Thornhill will forever be remembered fondly in Kansas City. And who knows? A reunion may be in the cards, after all.
