Former Chief Explains Excitement of Seeing KC Return to Super Bowl
By Joe Summers
The Kansas City Chiefs have seen many players come and go during this dynastic run, punctuated by another trip to the Super Bowl after beating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship on Sunday.
Former players like Tyreek Hill may wonder why they pursued "greener" grass on the other side of the fence, though others are cheering their old teammates on from afar. One of those is sixth-year defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, who took to social media to support the Chiefs.
As Saunders put it, he and guys like Willie Gay Jr. and L'Jarius Sneed are still part of the history Kansas City is creating.

He noted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that we're witnessing history, saying "we part of that. So yes whenever i ain't in it it's KC," suggesting that he'll always root for the Chiefs if his current team is eliminated. Saunders started 10 games for the New Orleans Saints this year, notching 43 tackles, two sacks, and an interception.
Originally a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Western Illinois, Saunders spent the first four years of his career with the Chiefs. Affectionately known as "Sir Bink" by his teammates, Saunders was always a positive locker room influence and still interacts with other players on social media.
He frequently tweets along with fans during Kansas City's games and helped lay the foundation for the dynastic run we're witnessing. Even though the roster is much different now than it was during the first Super Bowl, those players who have moved on still hold a special connection to Chiefs Kingdom.
The Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles just one win away from the historic three-peat. FanDuel Sportsbook has Kansas City listed as 1.5-point favorites and based on Saunders' comments, more than a few former Chiefs hope they get the job done.
