Ex-Chiefs Champion Trashed By New Team's Fans After Injury
By Joe Summers
Former Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill, who was drafted by the organization in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, has endured a rough season with the Browns due to injuries.
He's only appeared in six games during his second year with Cleveland and fans on social media aren't happy. Thornhill is a quality player who makes positive contributions to his respective communities, so it's unfortunate to see fans turn on him like this.
Considering the way those same fans embraced Deshaun Watson, it's more embarrassing for them than anything. Perhaps they don't deserve Thornhill.
Browns Fans Trash Former Chiefs S Juan Thornhill for Latest Injury
Thornhill hasn't played int he last five games but according to Mary Kay Cabot, he's trending in the right direction. Nonetheless, Browns fans seem to be taking their frustration out on the two-time Super Bowl champion.
Even for this group, some of these posts on social media are ridiculous.
What is wrong with these people?
Thornhill, who is a pending free agent, is the least of their problems. Ownership embraced Deshaun Watson and handed him the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history despite facing 26 sexual assault allegations.
Cleveland's mess is the Haslam family's fault, not Thornhill's. Perhaps fans would be better off directing their anger at them instead of someone who had nothing to do with the disastrous season they're enduring.
In all likelihood, Thornhill will be on a new team next season. Chiefs fans fondly remember him and he'll make a positive impact elsewhere.
Either way, he's got something Browns fans have never experienced: Super Bowls.
