The Kansas City Chiefs lost several key contributors in free agency. Joe Thuney was traded to the Chicago Bears, Tershawn Wharton signed with the Carolina Panthers, and Justin Reid joined the New Orleans Saints on a three-year, $31.5 million deal.

Reid may have left the Chiefs after three straight seasons that ended in the Super Bowl, but he has not forgotten Kansas City. In fact, he revealed to Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show that he is returning for a special occasion.

Justin Reid Returning to KC to Host Annual Golf Tournament

Reid is hosting his second annual celebrity golf tournament in Blue Hills in Kansas City on June 23rd, 2025. He hosted the first edition last June, with various NFL players, athletes, and actors joining. Reid then added that he wants to bring the tournament to New Orleans next year.

In Reid's inaugural tournament last year, plenty of former and current Chiefs, including members of the coaching staff, joined to raise money for his foundation, JReid Indeed. The organizationsupports kids in the KC area through community outreach, interactive youth programs, and technology access.

Reid is no longer a Chief, but he will be remembered fondly by the community, which he has consistently given back to. Undoubtedly, plenty of his former teammates and coaches will be in Blue Hills in June, coming together for a good cause.

Unfortunately, Chiefs fans will not be able to see Reid at Arrowhead Stadium this season as Kansas City is not scheduled to face the Saints. However, every member of KC Kingdom will surely be rooting for the former star safety.
