The offseason is unfortunately upon us and the Kansas City Chiefs are hard at work preparing for major changes across the roster. A number of players have already been released and it's obvious that general manager Brett Veach intends to make big adjustments.

There's no excuse for the performance the Chiefs put on the field in the most important moments, yet the team's brass has earned the benefit of the doubt to trust them to make changes moving forward. It's a trying time for Chiefs Kingdom and the dominos have already begun to fall.

In fact, one player who Kansas City just released has already landed a new job, reuniting with former Chiefs front office executive Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears.

Bears Sign Former Chiefs LB Swayze Bozeman Instantly After KC Release

Just a couple of days after Swayze Bozeman recorded three tackles in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs elected not to keep him on the roster. On Friday, the Chicago Bears signed him.

Bozeman was an undrafted rookie out of Southern Mississippi. He appeared in three games in the regular season, notching just three tackles in limited action mostly spent on special teams. At 26 years old, it was always unlikely that Bozeman would carve out a significant role, though his playing time in Super Bowl 59 shows he earned the coaching staff's trust at least to some degree.

Kansas City has questions to answer at linebacker with Nick Bolton up for a contract extension. Bozeman doesn't fit as a long-term starter yet his promising play raises questions about why the team didn't keep him throughout the summer. Perhaps they didn't see a future beyond special teams, or maybe Bozeman wanted to chase a larger role elsewhere.

Whatever the case, it's clear that Bozeman's talent was valued across the league. Here's hoping that letting him go doesn't come back to bite the Chiefs.
