Eagles' Pre-Super Bowl Injury Report Gives Chiefs Key Intel Ahead of Showdown

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles released their first injury reports ahead of the Super Bowl on Wednesday. Since neither team practiced, these were estimated injury reports but still provided important takeaways ahead of the game.
The Chiefs have a cleaner bill of health and listed all of their key players, including Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt, Jawaan Taylor, Jaylen Watson, and Bryan Cook, as full participants.
The Eagles, however, are not as lucky. Per the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, the Eagles gave nine players a DNP tag.

The rest designations for Saquon Barkley and AJ Brown shouldn't be causes for concern for the Eagles. Seeing Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens, who were banged up after the NFC championship game, on the report wasn't particularly surprising, either.
Star wide receiver DeVonta Smith's name on the report, however, is rather surprising. Smith already missed two games this season with a hamstring injury, and his not being able to practice with a hamstring designation is something worth monitoring over the next week.
Saquon Barkley's incredible regular season and postseason understandably dominated the headlines all year but the Eagles have a ton of talent around him. The aerial threat posed by DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown makes the Eagles offense very difficult to slow down.
Smith put up 100 yards in seven catches in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs two years ago. In the Chiefs' Week 11 loss to the Eagles in 2023, Smith had six catches for 99 yards. If he is unavailable or limited when these teams face off in ten days, it will be a massive advantage for Steve Spagnuolo and the Chiefs defense.
