The Kansas City Chiefs' passing game is hurting -- again. If that sounds like a familiar phrase, it's because, unfortunately, it is. However, Vic Fangio and the Philadelphia Eagles might've just given them a helping hand.

According to Eagles insider Eliot Shorr-Parks, the Eagles' defensive coordinator just confirmed that he's going to stick with Adoree' Jackson at cornerback for now. That news may have Patrick Mahomes licking his chops.

Eagles to Stick with Adoree' Jackson for Super Bowl Rematch With Chiefs

The Eagles hoped that Jackson would replace Darius Slay outside, but the former first-round pick was their biggest liability in the season opener. He gave up a whopping 103 yards on five receptions and seven targets.

Of course, the Chiefs' wide receivers corps is decimated, and Quinyon Mitchell will most likely take care of Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown, who went off for ten receptions on 16 targets for 99 yards, although the bulk of his production came with a 49-yard explosion.

Still, the Eagles won't have many other options to make up for Jackson's shortcomings against another speedster like Tyquan Thornton.

They only played Jakorian Bennett for a handful of snaps in the season opener, and he wasn't much better, allowing three catches for 20 yards. They also have Kelee Ringo there, but he's made his bread and butter on special teams for most of his career.

That leaves Fangio's hands tied for the time being, with his other only options being fifth-round rookie Mac McWilliams or moving rookie safety Andrew Mukuba to the slot and sliding Cooper DeJean out wide to play opposite Mitchell.

Chiefs Need to Step up

Whatever the case, the Chiefs' offense will have to step up as a whole to get back at the Eagles in Week 2. Without Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice, they will have to do a better job of establishing the run, and Isiah Pacheco needs to get more touches.

The Eagles gave up 114 rushing yards in the opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys, but things might be a little tougher if Jalen Carter doesn't face a suspension over his spitting incident.

Andy Reid will also need to turn to Travis Kelce early and often. He only hauled in two catches on four targets for 41 yards and one touchdown in the season opener, and he will need to drive those numbers up to help this offense stay afloat while they're still decimated by injuries.
