The Chiefs are set to take on the Raiders on Black Friday as the standalone game in the NFL. There's no question who the better team is and Las Vegas proved as much with a desperate move just 24 hours prior to the game.

They signed former Panthers second-round receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster. He'll suit up on Friday after being cut by the Panthers prior to the regular season.

After putting QB Gardner Minshew on the injured reserve list, the Raiders are now giving Marshall a look with Aidan O'Connell.

Raiders Sign WR Terrace Marshall Jr. to Active Roster

There's nothing inherently wrong about letting Marshall have a shot. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is a master at finding former high draft picks who flamed out with their first team.

That said, to make the move this late in the season only makes sense if you're a bad team. The Raiders are currently projected to have the second pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, so they certainly qualify.

Kansas City, meanwhile, is atop the AFC on track to earn home-field advantage yet again. One organization is putting the finishing touches on an elite roster while the other is already looking ahead to next year.

Marshall's best year came in 2022 with 28 catches for 490 yards and a TD. He theoretically projects as a downfield threat and has impressive physical attributes, but I'm not overly interested if not even Carolina wants you on the field.

We'll see if the signing pays off, though it's clear regardless why the Chiefs are massive favorites.
