Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs left tackle was a revolving door until Joe Thuney was moved out to tackle in Week 15. While Thuney's play at tackle was fine, it wasn't elite like it was at guard. As a result, Kansas City knew they must address the left tackle position this offseason.

That is why they went out and signed former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Jaylon Moore to a two-year deal. The Chiefs are hoping that Moore will be able to solidify the left tackle position in 2025. That said, in the event of an injury, the Chiefs' current backup left tackle is Ethan Driskell.

While Kingsley Suamataia and Wanya Morris are still on the team, fans would rather not see them be the team's left tackle. Fortunately, a member of the Chiefs' tackle room from last season is still available for a reunion.

Should Kansas City Bring Back D.J. Humphries?

Veteran left tackle D.J. Humphries has yet to be signed this offseason. Although most fans shudder at that name after his performance last season, a reunion might not be the worst thing.

The 31-year-old signed a one-year deal with Kansas City on November 22 for up to $2 million. Humphries, who was coming off of a torn ACL, didn't end up playing well when he saw the field. In two games, Humphries allowed three sacks, three QB hits, five QB hurries and 11 QB pressures, according to PFF.

Although two sacks, one QB hit, three QB hurries, and six QB pressures came in Week 18, which didn't matter for Kansas City, Humphries' performance was still not good. So, the desire to not bring him back is justified.

However, there is a chance that Humphries looks a little more like his old self, with it theoretically being his second year on the team. While his age may prohibit him from fully returning to his Pro Bowl form, getting something close to that would be a valuable asset to have on the bench.

If worse comes to worse and Moore ends up not being what the Chiefs signed up for, then Humphries could be good insurance. Regardless of a potential Humphries re-signing, Kansas City should look into bringing in another backup tackle.
