The Kansas City Chiefs made the long-awaited move to address their WR needs and traded for DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans.

After Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice landed on the injured reserve list before the season, the Chiefs desperately needed more quality and depth in the WR room. This was made more obvious when JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a hamstring injury and was ruled out for Week 8.

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid did an admirable job steering the ship through all of these absences to have the Chiefs as the only team in the league with a perfect record. Fortunately for Chiefs fans, the front office wasn't fooled by the 6-0 start and made a big move before the trade deadline.

One of the under-discussed parts of this deal that will make the fanbase even happier is what it means for Skyy Moore and his future with the team.

The former second-round pick has continued to frustrate Chiefs fans in his opportunities this season. In Week 7 against the 49ers, Moore had to play 33 offensive snaps after Smith-Schuster went down. Continuing his trend from this season, the 24-year-old failed to register any stats, finishing the game with one target and no catches.

In previous years, Moore played a role as a punt and kickoff returner. This year, however, Mecole Hardman has those responsibilities, rendering Moore superfluous.

Despite getting chances in Kansas City, Moore was never able to put it together. A fresh start in a situation with less pressure could do him wonders for the rest of his career. The Chiefs can cut him now that they added Hopkins and whether the 24-year-old will find a team to take a chance on him remains to be seen.
