Wide receiver might just be the most stacked position on the Kansas City Chiefs' roster right now. In fact, this might be the deepest group Patrick Mahomes has ever had to throw to.

That’s going to make final cuts a real headache for the front office. The Chiefs have kept seven receivers in each of the last two seasons, and with the talent they’ve got on deck for 2025, that streak could continue.

With camp right around the corner, here’s a look at where things stand heading into the roster battle.

Roster Locks

Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, and Jalen Royals

This core four is locked and loaded. The Chiefs are expecting big things from them.

Worthy turned heads in his rookie season with nearly 750 total yards and nine touchdowns. He’s got legit game-breaking potential and should only get better in Year 2.

Rice was off to a hot start in 2024 before a torn LCL shut him down after just four games. He looked like a future WR1 as a rookie and will be looking to pick up where he left off.

Brown battled through an injury-riddled year, but he’s healthy heading into camp. If he can stay on the field, he brings serious speed and experience to the room.

Then there’s Royals, the rookie fourth-round pick who’s already turning heads. He might end up being one of the biggest steals of the entire draft.

Strong Bets

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Smith-Schuster is right on the edge of being a lock. He brings leadership, playoff experience, and familiarity with the system. Still, his $1.12 million deal isn’t hard to get out of if others step up in camp. He’s probably safe, but not untouchable.

On the Bubble

Skyy Moore, and Nikko Remigio

This is where things get interesting.

Moore, a former second-rounder, hasn’t lived up to expectations and is heading into the final year of his rookie deal. It’s now or never for him—not just in KC, but possibly for his NFL future.

Remigio could throw a wrench in Moore’s plans. He’s got juice as a return specialist and could be in line to handle both kickoffs and punts. If the Chiefs decide to only keep six wideouts, Remigio’s versatility on special teams could push Moore off the roster.

Practice Squad Watch

Elijhah Badger, Tyquan Thornton, Justyn Ross, and Jason Brownlee

There’s a whole group of intriguing names waiting in the wings. Badger is the standout here—he’s got great hands, big-play ability, and could make a strong push for a future roster spot. Ross, Thornton, and Brownlee all have upside, but they’ll need to shine in camp just to stay in the mix.

Camp Bodies

Jimmy Holiday and Mac Dalena

With the receiver room as deep as it is, Holiday and Dalena are long shots. Still, they’ll get a shot to show what they can do when the preseason rolls around—mostly mop-up duty, but that’s how underdogs get noticed.
