The Kansas City Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC and earned the first-round bye. The Chiefs were able to have two weeks of rest, as they sat their starters in Week 18 and had the Wild Card round off.

On Saturday, the Chiefs host the Houston Texans, as a trip to the AFC Championship is on the line. The prep for this battle has started, and head coach Andy Reid spoke with the media on Tuesday afternoon.

He teased that CB Jaylen Watson could potentially return to the field against the Texans.

Reid added that he doesn't know about throwing Watson out there for a whole game but there's a "chance" he's back in the lineup.

Back in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers, Watson suffered a fractured ankle and was placed on IR. At first, Kansas City didn't know if Watson was going to return to action this season. Thankfully, things have been trending in the right direction for a couple of weeks now.

On Jan. 3, Kansas City designated Watson to return to practice, signaling there was a shot he would return to the field.

Before going down, the Washington State product was an effective and productive playmaker. He had 32 total tackles and six pass deflections. Watson was a consistent player for the defense, logging 91% of defensive snaps.

According to PFF, he had a 70.9 overall grade and a 74.2 coverage grade. Getting Watson back in the secondary will certainly help and improve the secondary. He'll need some time to get his legs back under him, but Watson paired with Trent McDuffie will help.

Watson had a 75.3 passer rating allowed and a 53.3% completion percentage. Getting the 26-year-old would be huge as the Chiefs chase their third straight Super Bowl title.
