The Kansas City Chiefs have been a lot more active in free agency than many people expected. To this point, the Chiefs have retained/signed nine players. More than half (5) of these signings have been on the offensive side of the ball. Among those signings are Jaylon Moore, Trey Smith, Elijah Mitchell, Marquise " Hollywood" Brown, and Robert Tonyan.
Kansas City's early focus on the offense this offseason seems to have caught the attention of one of their defensive stars. On Thursday, Chris Jones shared a cryptic tweet on X that read, "It's ok to disappear until you find yourself again." Jones' words may reflect how he's feeling about how the Chiefs defensive line currently looks.

Chris Jones Shares a Cryptic Message on X
Earlier this week, the 30-year-old defensive star was one of two players who restructured their contracts to open up cap space. Despite this, the space that was opened up was to ensure Kansas City could add all the new offensive pieces.
The Chiefs' only notable defensive moves this offseason have been retaining linebacker Nick Bolton and signing cornerback Kristian Fulton. As a result, the defensive line has suffered.
Jones lost one of his defensive tackle running mates, Tershawn Wharton. Wharton signed a three-year deal worth nearly $54 million with the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, veteran Charles Omenihu remains unsigned. Although he has yet to sign anywhere else, Kansas City needs to act quickly if they want him back.
Nevertheless, if the Chiefs are unable to bring back Omenihu or bring in players who can make an impact, then Jones will have a lot more pressure put on him in 2025. Jones understands this, which could have prompted the cryptic tweet.
