Chiefs rival can only laugh at continued Josh Allen disrespect

For years, the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills have starred in the most exciting rivalry football has to offer. Everyone wants to watch Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen go toe-to-toe, and they've had some instant classics, especially in the playoffs.

Naturally, that has led to some uncomfortable conversations, friendly -- and not so friendly -- banter between fan bases, and blazing hot takes. Still, the Chiefs hold bragging rights over the Bills after taking them down in the playoffs over and over.

That said, even the biggest Josh Allen hater in Kansas City or Missouri has to admit that Allen is a force to be reckoned with. That's why NFL Spin Zone's QB-HC ranking of Allen and Joe Brady at No. 15 felt disrespectfully low:

"Allen is an MVP and among the best in the NFL. He is slowly getting up there in age, so the urgency for winning continues to tick up with each passing season, and we can’t not mention the years of playoff heartbreak that continue to be a stain on this franchise. Allen and Brady will likely end up leading the Bills to double-digit wins, but with how many solid head coaches are in the league right now, being ranked 15th is about as high as we can slot them at the moment."

We have to give credit where it's due. Josh Allen, like Mahomes, has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and denying that is just irrational. He might still not be at Mahomes' level, especially due to the lack of silverware, but this game is a team sport first and foremost.

Joe Brady might be a rookie head coach, but he's been calling the shots for the Bills' offense for a while now. He's familiar with the organization and the personnel, and not many people know Allen and his strengths better. First-year HC or not, Brady should probably be ranked significantly higher, if only for his quarterback alone.

Having the Bills be a contender is actually good for the Chiefs. They push Andy Reid's team to the edge better than any other team, and even those losses in the regular season have been crucial to adapt, adjust, and get ready and better for when it matters the most.

Iron sharpens iron, and the game is always better when the best are playing at their finest. Allen and Mahomes have been trying to one-up one another for years, and that type of competition will only bring out the best in both of them.

Every great hero needs a great villain, and there are always two sides to each story. Beating the Bills in epic fashion has helped build Mahomes' legacy, and the hope of taking the Chiefs down once and for all has driven and pushed Allen to new heights. The Bills deserve more credit and maybe even some success; let's just hope it doesn't come at the Chiefs' expense.
