Over the past seven seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs have become one of the NFL's top franchises. As a result, Kansas City has been featured in many marquee matchups. In the past two seasons, the Chiefs played on Christmas Day. Moreover, the franchise was a part of five primetime games in 2024.

Chiefs Eyeing Two Big Primetime Slots For the 2025 Season
According to the Athletics' Nate Taylor and Daniel Popper, there have been discussions at the NFL owners' meetings for the Chiefs to open the 2025 season in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers and once again play on Christmas Day.
Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers opened up the season on a Friday night in Brazil. Philadelphia, the eventual Super Bowl Champions, came out of the matchup victorious. That said, the Chiefs opening in Brazil against the Chargers would arguably be a bigger matchup.
Not only are the Chiefs one of the biggest money-makers in the NFL, but it's a division matchup. Every division game is pivotal, and scheduling it for Week 1 overseas would make it even more of a must-watch.
The article states that Kansas City wants to become a fixture on Christmas Day, much like the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys are on Thanksgiving. Although Kansas City being a fixture on Christmas could annoy some fans, it wouldn't be the worst idea.
Nonetheless, Chiefs Kingdom and the rest of the NFL world will have to wait until the schedule is revealed in May to see what primetime games Kansas City has this year.
