The Kansas City Chiefs are one of two teams remaining that are undefeated. They are rolling into their bye week after they secured a 26-13 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 5.

Despite their stout record, the Chiefs have been hammered with injuries at receiver. They lost both Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice already. They need some more juice at WR but it's been reported they are out on a star playmaker.

Chiefs News: Kansas City Is Out on Davante Adams

Per Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Chiefs, Cowboys, Ravens, and Commanders are out on trading for receiver Davante Adams.

"The Kansas City Chiefs, per multiple league sources, are no longer considered a potential landing spot for Adams. "

This isn't a shocker to most Chiefs fans. In-division trades are already rare. Throw in the fact that Kansas City has won back-to-back Super Bowl titles. The Raiders are reportedly asking for a second-round pick in exchange for Adams but the Chiefs would likely have to pay a tax to land him.

Another thing that made this potential trade more difficult is the money aspect. Kansas City only has $4.1 million available in cap space per Overthecap. Any team that acquires Adams would have to take on his remaining salary, which is around $12.5 million.

The money didn't work out for Kansas City, in addition to the draft compensation they would have to give up.

Kansas City heads into the bye week looking to rest up. They are still potentially gauging the trade market for receivers right now. It's just that Adams won't be the addition they make.
